Honey Chili Chicken Wings

Chili Chicken Wings is another favorite of ours. All the kids in our family love it, as well as the adults.

Not many things are needs in making these wings, and its great as an entree or as an appetizer. I generally make these as an appetizer but my sister in law makes them as the main item as part of there main dish. Either way, they are delicious. Definitely worth trying out.

The brown you see on the wings is actually caramelized Honey, which gives these wings the added flavor.

Marinate Overnight or for at least 3-4 Hours.

INGREDIENTS

Chicken Wings (Approx 20- 30 Wings)

Tablespoon Minced Ginger
Tablespoon Minced Garlic
Tablespoon Chili Powder (Only if you can handle spice well)
Tablespoon Salt
Tablespoon Tumeric
1 Tablespoon Coriander Cumin Powder

1/2 Cup of Honey
1/2 Jar of Vietnamese Chili Garlic Sauce(8oz)
(Any Sweet Chili Sauce or Chili Sauce works)
I use the following :

METHOD - PREPARATION

1) Clean the Chicken yourself by taking off most of the fat that's on the chicken. IE: the white bits. The fat is unhealthy for you and doesn't taste good.
2) Wash the Chicken, each individual piece at a time, and place it on the side in a bowl. After washing each individual piece, do a final wash with all the pieces together. Rinse them all out and drain out all the water.

You will feel good that you are eating a clean chicken

3) Add Ginger, Garlic, Chili Powder, Salt, Turmeric, Coriander Cumin Powder. Add 1/2 - 3/4 jar of the Chili Sauce, and approx 1/2 cup of Honey. If you like sweet wings then feel free to add more honey.
4) Mix the wings and put them in the fridge to marinate overnight or for at least 3-4 hours.

METHOD - COOKING

I like to cook my wings in an Electric fry pan, but if you do not have an Electric Fry pan then a non stick fry pan will also work.

5) Add Oil to the fry pan.
6) Once oil is hot, then add wings and cook for about 20 minutes or so until wings are tender.
7) Once wings are cooked and the sauce has caramelized a little, then take the wings out into a serving dish, and continue caramelizing the sauce, until the sauce has almost evaporated and turned into a nice caramelized mixture. once you are happy with the thickness, pour it over the wings.
8) Sprinkle Cilantro over the wings

Your wings are ready to be served
